What is your pricing?

With nearly a decade we weddings on the books we've learned that each and every celebration is as distinct and remarkable as you are. Because of this, we create custom quotes for each of our clients to tailor to their individual wedding photography desires. That being said, most brides book a collection between $5,000 and $9,000. Contact us and we can begin working on a custom collection for you!

Absolutely. We can happily tailor any collection to best suit your celebration. Please email us your wish list. We will follow up with a bespoke collection for your review.

Can I customize a collection?

Where are you located?

We are based in San Diego, but are always available for travel worldwide. We always relish the opportunity to explore the world and would love to hear about your next adventure!

Do you travel for Destination Weddings, Elopements, or Engagements?

Yes! We are avid travelers and love to travel around the world to capture romantic and remarkable weddings and engagements. We've graced almost every continent and dream of capturing life's most epic celebrations around the world.

Is travel/accommodation included in your pricing?

Yes! We include travel for two photographers in your custom proposal. We have an extensive background in travel-planning and always source the most reasonable accommodations, flights and transportation to ensure you don't have to stress about anything on our end for your destination wedding.

Do you work with a second shooter?

Is travel/accommodation included in your pricing?

The short answer—kind of. We are a husband and wife photography team. My husband Nick, is my business partner and fellow adventurer, and we shoot all weddings as a team. Throughout the day, Nick serves as an enhancement to my skills, and is so much more than a second shooter. Nick is as much of a lead photographer as I am and his background in film provides a unique perspective and eye for detail as he transitions from shooting portraits and the groom’s “getting ready” to pivotal moments like the ceremony, reception decor, first dance, cake cutting, etc. Depending on the scale of the event, we bring on additional shooters or assistants as needed.

Do you shoot film or digital?

Both. We love being able to offer both mediums to our wedding clients and have a deep appreciation for the art of film. All film and digital images are processed and cohesively presented together in an online gallery.

I love your work! What is the next step?

We would absolutely love to grab coffee with you and your fiancé to get to know you and chat with you about your wedding. For couples that are planning weddings from afar we also do meetings over Zoom, but if you’re in the area we do love to meet with you both in person. We are super relational people and you will be spending a majority of your wedding day with us as your photographers, so it is important that you feel comfortable and at home with us, our personalities and working style! Wedding details can always be worked with through emails, but that personal connection and trust will let us capture all those great moments of your wedding day, without taking anything away from enjoying it. We don’t view photography as simply a job, but as a relationship and hopefully a friendship. We want to know you and the best place to start that relationship is over a good cup of coffee to see if we are that perfect fit!

What is your approach in capturing the wedding story?

We have a very hands-on approach to setting up a wedding day timeline—our goal is to ensure that you have the best natural light for every part of your celebration. We also prefer to help build the timeline together with your planner and designer to gives you plenty of time to capture all of your desired portraits and photographs throughout the day with buffers to ensure you have a smooth and enjoyable experience. We balance directing, styled detail shots and portraits, and capturing the moments that happen organically through photojournalistic coverage. The end result yields a beautiful balance of people, details and emotion.

How far in advance do you start booking?

We generally don’t book weddings that are much further than a year and a half out, simply because we can’t predict what life will look like or where we will be. Most weddings are booking out roughly 6months-1year in advance, but if you’re getting married next month and we happen to be available then we would love to make it happen!

When will you arrive at our wedding location?

If your wedding is outside of Southern California we will arrive at your location the morning prior to the first event we are shooting during your wedding weekend, and several days prior for international weddings. This timeframe allows for any travel delays, location acclimation and scouting. Once we arrive we also like to collect important details like a welcome bag, favor or other items we will be photographing in addition to the invitation suite.

What happens if Jess get sicks or has some sort of emergency right before the wedding?

Having an emergency come up immediately before a wedding is a circumstance we have yet to encounter (knock on wood)—and an unpleasant thought for everyone involved. Leading up to a wedding, we plan our lives carefully to ensure our health is in top form and that we have ample travel time. Should unforeseen circumstances prevent us from attending your wedding, we will do our best to arrange a replacement photographer of equivalent caliber and style—we have a strong network to aid in such an unlikely circumstance. Alternatively, we would return your full investment and allow you to make your own arrangements if you so choose.

How many images will I receive?

Depending on the package and flow of the day, you will receive between 75-100 edited images per hour of coverage.

What is your turn-around time on images?

Turnaround times vary throughout the year, but during the busy season you will typically receive your images within 4 – 8 weeks depending on your custom collection. Some clients choose to have an expedited gallery for an additional fee and those galleries are delivered within 3 weeks of the wedding day.

Are you going to visit our venue before the wedding day?

We generally do not visit venues before your wedding day. We are more than happy to attend a walk-thru with you and your planner if your wedding is in Southern California. Otherwise, we will arrive extra early on your wedding day to walk around and location scout for your photos. Seeing your venue on any day other than your wedding doesn’t actually help us – the lighting, weather and time of year will be different, which can completely change how we plan your photos. By arriving early on your wedding day, we will have the best representation of what your exact day will be like, and we can prepare for the current weather and lighting and plan accordingly.

How many weddings do you shoot a year?

Because we invest our heart and souls into each of our clients we shoot no more than 15 weddings a year.

Should I make a "shot list" of my desired photos?

You’ve got enough on your plate—our thorough and detail oriented approach ensures you’ll have more photos than you could ever need or want, but we do recommend bringing to our attention any special people, planned moments, or unique details you’d like to capture that we might not know to anticipate. All of which you will provide through our wedding day preparation questionnaire. On your wedding day, please have the rings, dress, shoes, jewelry and any other heirlooms you’d like in the photos in the bridal suite. We will spend the first hour of our coverage shooting your details and final hair/makeup.

Who should be included in our family photos?

We will first photograph you with your immediate family members (parents and siblings) and grandparents (if applicable) during the allotted formal family time. If you have groupings outside of immediate family, we suggest you provide these details at least two weeks prior to your wedding so we can schedule our time accordingly. Additionally, please inform us of any special groupings due to family circumstances (i.e divorce, stepparents, etc) so that we can appropriately welcome and recognize all of the meaningful relationships in your life.

Do I select the images that will be used in my wedding album?

If an album is included in your collection, you will receive a first draft approximately 8 weeks after receiving your images. We custom design and lay out your album drafts to best narrate your wedding’s beautiful story. When you receive the first draft, you have the opportunity to make revisions. These may include swapping images, omitting spreads or adding spreads. Once you have approved your draft layout, we edit the images for the last time and send you a final PDF to approve before proceeding to production.

How do you ensure that you stay on schedule during the day?

Staying on schedule is one of the most important factors of our work. We plan carefully with your wedding planner or coordinator to create a custom minute-by-minute photo timeline for each event. Adhering to our photo timeline ensures that we are able to capture every incredible moment and detail of your celebration in optimal lighting conditions.

What if it rains? What if we have to reschedule/relocate due to weather or natural disaster?

While rain on your wedding day is considered lucky—it's certainly not what we hope for. That said, we've navigated the challenges weather can pose time and time again, and some of our proudest work is from rainy celebrations. We work together with your wedding planner to come up with a strong Plan B—and even a Plan C. Ultimately, in these circumstances, this is when our experience, expertise and resourcefulness pay off in dividends. Should inclimate weather threaten your wedding day to the point of needing to reschedule—each wedding and each situation is unique, and that's how we handle them. But know this, we’re your partner and friend through it all.

How do I book you for my wedding day?

In order to reserve your wedding date a signed contract and a 30% deposit is required, and everything is booked on a first come first serve basis.

Do you have vendor referrals and recommendations?

We love recommending our colleagues and friends! Over the years we’ve developed and maintained countless relationships within the industry and have had the pleasure of working side-by-side with some of the best planners, stylists, florists, dress designers, calligraphy artists, etc. We would be more than happy to get you in touch with some of them! Wedding Day

tips for your

01

Work with a skilled wedding planner

Weddings are once-in-a-lifetime events filled with elegant details, timelines, loved ones, and lots of emotions. A wedding planner can take your vision and enhance it beyond what you can imagine, allowing you to enjoy the stress-free wedding day of your dreams.

We work closely with our couples’ wedding planners to ensure we are afforded the opportunity to capture all the beautiful elements of your wedding day. Photographing your wedding is much more efficient and smooth when we work with a talented planner, as we are able to focus solely on creating captivating imagery while the wedding logistics are safely in their hands. A few of our favorite wedding planners/designers are:

02

Don't skip an engagement session

An essential part of telling your love story—Engagement Sessions. This is a time of creative collaboration and connection. Your engagement session will be hands down one of your favorite moments in the wedding experience. Working together in an intimate setting allows you to become comfortable in front of the camera which makes your wedding day even more seamless. Using this time to connect with each other in the midst of planning and connecting with us as your photographers will create authentic, joyful and genuine moments you will cherish forever.

Engagement sessions are some of our favorites and with destination locations, meaningful moments and high fashion, the possibilities are endless.

03

Know the sunset time

We like to discuss photo timelines early in the planning process to maximize our opportunities for creating stunning images. Because we shoot with film, we prefer to photograph all the important details of the day (details, decor, and all portraits) in natural light. Together with your wedding planner, we build your timeline around the best natural light to ensure your day looks wonderful in the photos you’ll keep for a lifetime. Know the sunset time for your wedding day and ideally visit the location the year prior to see the light throughout the day. This will aid in selecting the optimal ceremony, cocktail, and reception times.

04

Create a realistic wedding day timeline

Keeping to a wedding timeline is a key factor for maintaining a relaxing and photographically productive day. Things like delayed hair and makeup can drastically change the day’s schedule and impact your time for portraits prior to the ceremony. (We highly recommend a hair and makeup trial prior to the wedding.) Adding buffer time (up to an hour) around the important elements of your wedding preparation allows for delays. The best case scenario is that you finish on time and have a moment for a glass of champagne before the ceremony. Tip: When alerting the family and bridal party of their times to be ready for portraits, give a time 15 minutes prior to the start of portraits to ensure timeliness.

05

Choose a beautiful location to get ready

The first few hours of wedding photography take place as you get ready. Whether you choose a bridal suite, hotel room, or other location to prepare for the wedding, consider the backdrop for these images. This location is where we photograph the majority of your details and initial portraits. As such, we recommend selecting a spacious, open location with ample natural light and similar decor or feel to your wedding so the images flow with the rest of the day.

06

Details Matter

Please prepare all of your wedding details in advance for photographing while you’re getting ready. These details include the full paper/invitation suite in perfect condition with your preferred calligraphy/addressing/stamps, welcome bag, favor, all paper products, dress, shoes, all wedding rings, and any other details from your day that you would like photographed. We love to style still life shots, especially with meaningful elements that you provide. Consider family heirlooms, jewelry, ribbon, fabric and other items that can enhance your images. Please have your wedding and bridal details in the bridal suite where you’re getting ready so we can capture them when we arrive.

If you’re using a unique linen for your wedding reception tables, please consider adding an additional small one to the rental order for photographing your wedding invitation and/or details. This helps tie together your images through color and texture, making them more cohesive and powerful.

07

Consider a first look

We highly recommend taking the bulk of your portraits prior to the ceremony. Not only will this allow us more time to create beautiful portraits of you and those who matter to you most, but it will allow you to enjoy more of the post-ceremony festivities. Couples often become impatient and frustrated when they are forced to spend their entire cocktail hour taking portraits, as they would rather enjoy the party with friends and family. We get it! This is why we advise leaving only the absolutely necessary group portraits for immediately after the ceremony.

08

Consider a phone-free ceremony

Cell phones and iPads create a significant obstacle for us at your ceremony. We have found that at least one of your guests will try to capture your nuptials with a phone, tablet, or their own camera. These devices end up in your wedding photos and create unsightly distractions while blocking the faces and emotions of you and your guests. The best photojournalistic images of your wedding come about when your guests put away their devices and watch the ceremony with their eyes and hearts.

Tip: Consider asking your officiant to make an announcement just before the start of the processional to request that guests put away their cameras and devices and be present during the ceremony.

09

Enjoy & Trust us

To ensure we are the perfect fit for one another, it’s very important for us to get to know as much as possible about you and your wedding day prior to booking. We love to learn about both of you, your personality, your family, and your background so we get a solid sense of your love story and who you are. After the experience of your engagement session, you will know what to expect on your wedding day. It’s now time to relax and enjoy – be yourselves and leave the magic to us.
