Date Night! Two of my favorite words, Nick and I have a designated night each week that is specifically for a date. Having a date night every week doesn’t mean always going out for nice dinners, it just means taking one evening to be intentional with each other. It’s a night we get to put aside all of our to-do lists, our business work, and taking care of our little guy to spend some time laughing and flirting with each other.
Awhile back we started a date night bucket list. We put every fun restaurant we wanted to try, every city we wanted to explore and any activity we could come with on it and today I’m sharing a few of my favorites with you!
1.Whale Watching Tour
I LOVE being on a boat, seeing whales in the wild and wine soooooo being on a whale watching tour with wine is a serious win for me. There are tons of Whale Watching tours in San Diego but one of my favorites is Oceanside Adventures! Tours are about $39, so that’s an even better bonus when it comes to date night. $39 for 2 hours on the water with a glass of wine? Sign me up!
2. SoundBite Dinner
Do you eats and beats? SoundBite dinner is a traveling series of multi-sensory dining experiences in San Diego and Los Angeles. Top chefs create dishes inspired by original tracks played by local musicians. This is a BYOB dinner hosted at different locations around the city. The 5 course meal will blow your mind and watching chefs come together to collaborate and plate intricate meals will inspire you. Tickets for this are $70 per person and worth every penny!
3. You & Yours Tasting Room
If you’re looking for a relaxing place to grab a drink and a few appetizers You & Yours is the place to be. This distillery tasting room has a modern vibe with fantastic seasonal drinks, all of which are full distilled onsite! Salvaged wood, whitewashed brick, exposed concrete, plush velvet, denim linen, copper and marble accents come together to create a fresh, unique and Insta-worthy atmosphere.
4. Picnic at the Tide Pools
Do you need a unique, romantic and affordable date night idea? We LOVE going to the Carlsbad Tide Pools to watch the sunset. The Carlsbad Tide Pools are a little known treasure in San Diego so they aren’t overly busy with tourists. The stretch of beach is long and wide allowing plenty of space to lay out a blanket, sip a glass of wine and eat a picnic dinner. Parking can be a little tricky so make sure you get there in time to find a spot!
5. The Pearl Hotel’s Dive-In Theatre
We’ve all heard of Drive-In Theatre’s but what about ‘Dive-In’ Theatre’s? The Pearl Hotel offers a fun and FREE date night option every week! The event takes place at their poolside lounge and theater located outdoors and connected to EAT at The Pearl. Showtime is at 8:00 PM, food is served until 10:00 PM and bar’s open until 11:00 PM. Reservations for all party sizes accepted and strongly recommended. The best part is the swimming pool is open to hotel guests for free and others with a drink purchase.
Date night can be so much more than a nice dinner out and you can take the pressure off figuring out what to do by trying one of these 5 fun San Diego Date Ideas!
